The characteristics of the organisation (main areas of educational activities, who are adult learners, etc.) The overriding aim of the Mazovian Centre for Culture and Arts’ activities is to step up the quality of cultural life in the Mazovia, popularize culture and arts, educate people in this sphere,
inspire and support artistic creativity and to popularize and promote Mazovian Province’s tradition.
What we want to do is to present arts, organize methodological trainings, support local initiatives in the sphere of arts and to protect national inheritance. The University of the Third Age is one of our projects, it’s an educational and cultural program with the main aim to fulfill various needs of elderly people, such as cultural, scholarly or intellectual activities.

Summary of the project
Aims, objectives, general approach This Project came into being as a result of observation of the Mazovian University of the Third Age’s listeners and their interest in arts. The project gives an opportunity for international contacts between seniors who attend courses in the visual arts. Their works would be connected with the subject of the landscape of their motherland, especially of the Mazovian Province.
For the project purposes, there are going to be organized international workshops with participation of seniors in order to enhance their artistic skills.
Outdoor meetings joined with the sightseeing of galleries and exhibitions will take place. The project will be finished with the international vernissage. The catalogue with pictures and descriptions of gained experiences will be created as well as the multimedia presentation with photographs and pieces of information about every participating country.
Activities
(number and aims of partners’ meetings, main national activities between partner meetings) Every partner organizes workshops focused on the visual arts.
Every participating country organizes outdoor meetings, joined with
the sightseeing of galleries/exhibitions, discussions about
paintings, sharing experiences.
Exhibition of the visual arts, discussion and rating of works. Learning
English.
Expected outcomes
(results, effects, products, also such as reports, websites, etc.) Meetings of people who want to enhance their painting skills: 3 meetings (one in every participating country).
People who take part in the project, acquire knowledge of English language.
Enhancing the painting skills during the workshops focused on the visual arts /minimum 16 participants/.
Building of the international cooperation by enhancing the painting skills.
Social integration by creative activity and intercultural exchange of experiences.
Promoting active living among elderly people (over 55 years old).
Help in the development and establishing international contacts.
Group of adult learners at which the project is targeted People over 50 years old, who are interested in enhancing their painting skills.
